Features & Compatibility

A spore print is made by collecting mushroom spores — similar to seeds — once the cap has fully matured and begins to release them. When handling Psilocybe spores, maintaining excellent hygiene is essential to ensure purity and quality throughout the process.

The Mexican, Golden Teacher, Ecuadorian, McKennaii, and Mazatapec spore prints are carefully tested to confirm their viability. Using strong, fertile spores is crucial when working with mushroom genetics.

McSmart serves as both producer and wholesaler of these spore prints. In addition to spore prints, the company offers premium mushroom spores, ampoules, and high-grade grow kits, all manufactured under strict quality standards.

For beginners, the Mexican Mushroom is often considered a suitable starting variety, with the Ecuadorian commonly chosen as a follow-up. The Golden Teacher, McKennaii, and Mazatapec varieties are generally described as more powerful and are typically preferred by those with prior experience.

How to make a mushroom spore syringe with a Sporeprint

Go clean and sterilise everything you use! Carefully open the spore print and use a sterile knife to scrape some of the spores into a sterile shot glass. One knife tip is enough for a 10cc syringe. Do not use too much sterile water, a few drops is enough. Use the needle of the syringe to mix the spores with a few drops of sterile water. If you look closely, you will see that the spores are falling apart. Continue until the mushroom spores are pretty much dissolved in the water. Suck the water with the spores into the needle and squeeze it again. Repeat this process a few times. This will make the spores mix well in the water. Suck it up again and the spore syringe is now finished and ready to use.

Substrate for the Mexican, Golden Teacher, Mazatapec, Ecuadorian and McKennaii spores

There are several ways to put together a substrate. These spores do well on a substrate of brown rice flour, PF Tek, rye and on enriched soil and manure.

Storing your Sporeprints

Spore-prints of mushrooms are made on sterile film. You can store these just fine in sterile plastic bag with seal in a dry, clean, dark and cool place.
