What you need to get started

The Boomer Shroomer Inflatable Monotub works like a compact grow room, but to get the most out of it, you need a few essentials:

• Cleaning alcohol (70%) – For proper cleaning of the tub, your materials and yourself. Hygiene is crucial when growing.
• Fully colonised spawn – This is the basis for your cultivation. You can choose from different forms:
  • Grain bags already colonised with cubensis liquid culture, for example
  • A ready-to-use kit from Mondo, FreshMushrooms, all-In-One or Mystic Fungi
• Substrate mix – Recommended for growing cubensis. A ratio of 2 parts substrate to 1 part spawn works best.

Ingredients and/or composition

The monotub is a complete, inflatable growing chamber with:

• Removable liner
• 10 red plugs (for the growth phase)
• 10 white air filters (for the harvest phase)
• Drainage hole at the bottom
• Valve to inflate the tub
• Clear instructions for use

Use

1. Preparing
   Inflate the tub (takes ±2 minutes). Clean your hands, arms and the inside and outside of the tub with 70% alcohol. Also treat the red plugs and place them in the openings.
2. Make mix
   Mix your fully colonised grain spawn with a moist substrate mix (test with a squeeze: 1-2 drops of water is perfect).
3. Fill
   Fill the tub with the mixture of spawn and substrate. Mix and press lightly to remove air bubbles.
4. Growth phase (7-14 days)
   Store at 21-24°C. Wait until the mycelium has taken over about 80% of the substrate.
5. Harvesting
   Replace the red plugs with the white filters. Ventilate for 10 seconds daily. Harvest when the membrane under the cap detaches.
6. Restart
   Add 1-2 litres of water, leave for 2 hours, drain and restart. Good for 3-5 harvests.
