Features & Compatibility

Rapé (also known as Yopo) has been used for thousands of years by indigenous Amazonian tribes during shamanic rituals. This sacred snuff is traditionally blown into the nostrils using a pipe called a Tepi. The Tepi is used in ceremonial settings, allowing a shaman to administer the rapé with intention and precision.

A Kuripe serves the same purpose as a Tepi, but is specifically designed for self-application. While using a Kuripe may feel challenging at first, it becomes much easier with practice. This Kuripe is crafted from bamboo, a natural and traditional material commonly used for ritual tools.

How to use the Kuripe

  1. Gently knead the rapé powder into a small ball, approximately the size of a pea.
  2. Place the rapé on the nose end of the Kuripe and position your mouth on the mouthpiece.
  3. Lean slightly forward and blow the rapé into one nostril.
  4. Repeat the same steps for the other nostril.

Rapé can sometimes cause strong physical reactions such as increased mucus production or nausea. Within traditional contexts, these reactions are seen as part of the cleansing process for both body and mind.
