Complete Growing Instructions

1. Preparation

Ensure your workspace is clean to prevent contamination from unwanted microorganisms. Always work hygienically.

Use only clean tap water or mineral water when misting or soaking the kit. Do not use distilled or demineralized water.

2. Setting Up the Grow Bag

Remove the grow bag from the box and carefully unroll it. Open the bag by removing the airtight clip at the top.

Gently stretch the bag to allow fresh air inside and then close it again using the clip.

To reduce the chance of mushrooms growing along the sides of the substrate (also known as side pins), place an elastic band around the outside of the bag approximately 1.5 cm below the top of the substrate.

3. Monitoring Growth

Monitor the grow bag regularly once mushroom formation begins.

During the first two flushes, additional water is generally not required. The moisture already present in the substrate is usually sufficient.

When the caps begin to open, the mushrooms are ready to harvest. Keep in mind that not all varieties produce visible veils or release spores in the same way.

4. Harvesting

Before harvesting, disinfect your hands with alcohol and preferably wear latex gloves.

To harvest the mushrooms, gently twist them clockwise until they detach from the substrate. Harvest the mushrooms as soon as the caps begin to open for the best quality.

Under optimal conditions, mushrooms are typically ready for harvest within two to four weeks, depending on temperature and environmental conditions.

5. Aftercare Following Harvest

After the second flush, add a small amount of water inside the grow bag — approximately one third up to the level of the substrate.

Close the bag securely using the clip to ensure it is airtight. Briefly remove and reattach the clip to introduce fresh air.

If excess water has not been absorbed within twelve hours, carefully pour it off.

6. Temperature Control

Maintain a stable temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68–77°F) for optimal results.

Avoid large temperature fluctuations, as these can slow down growth and affect yield.

7. Subsequent Harvests

Most kits will produce at least two harvests. Under ideal conditions, three or even four flushes may be possible.

After each harvest, close the grow bag again and add water as described to encourage further fruiting cycles.

Storage Instructions

For the best results, it is recommended to start the growing process as soon as possible after receiving the kit.

If you plan to begin later, the grow kit can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C.

Keep the grow bag with the mycelium inside its original box and place it directly in the refrigerator.

Ensure that your refrigerator is clean and free of mold. As an extra precaution, you may place the kit inside a clean plastic bag or grow bag during storage.
